Nivernaise uses two decks and eight foundations: four build upward from aces, and four build downward from kings, always by suit. Six piles supply the cards.
Reserve cells provide the only parking spaces
Each of eight reserve cells holds one card. The six main piles cannot receive ordinary card moves or build sequences; only their exposed tops can move out. A stock click deals three successive rows across the six piles, adding eighteen cards, with a shorter final deal and no redeal.
Use the exposed supply before covering it
Initially each main pile contains three visible cards. Before dealing another three layers, check both foundation directions and use a cell to preserve a card that will fit soon. Occupying every cell with distant ranks leaves no way to rescue the next useful supply card. Send all 104 cards home to win.
