Four aces start the foundations, while twelve columns of four hold the remaining cards. Only the column tops are visible, leaving 36 cards to uncover.
The king piles are temporary
Move one exposed card onto the next higher or lower rank of the same suit. Empty tableau columns cannot be refilled. Four extra piles may start with kings and build downward by suit, but they are holding areas: their cards must eventually reach the ace foundations.
Uncover before committing to a king pile
Win by finishing the four ace-to-king foundations and clearing all temporary piles. Moving a blocker to a king pile can reveal a hidden card, yet that blocker still needs a path home later. Check both suited building directions before occupying a holding pile that might trap an urgently needed rank.
