Eight reserve cells give Eight Off its name, but four are already occupied. The remaining 48 cards lie face up in eight columns of six.
What can go where?
- Build the tableau down by suit. Ordered descending runs of one suit can move together.
- An empty column accepts a king or a suited run led by a king.
- Each reserve cell holds a single card; use an empty one to park an exposed card.
- Send all cards to the four foundations, building each suit from ace to king. There is no stock.
Spend a cell to release a cell
Check whether a short rearrangement could free one of the four starting reserve cards. That may return your temporary space immediately and expose a useful tableau card.
Avoid filling every cell with cards whose receivers are buried. The eight slots look generous, but a blocked reserve cannot help you clear a path for a king.
