A central ace starts a long rising foundation, while four kings start the falling corner piles. Windmill uses two decks, eight single-card reserve spaces and a draw-one stock.
Suits do not restrict the foundations
The center builds upward by rank, wrapping from king to ace until it holds 52 cards. Each corner builds downward from king to ace. Suits and colors may mix in both directions. Each reserve space holds one card and can receive a card only when empty; it does not refill automatically.
Choose where the rank is needed next
Some exposed cards may fit both the center and a corner. Compare the ranks waiting behind them before choosing. The stock has no redeal, so reserve spaces can keep useful cards accessible until their receiver arrives. All 104 cards must finish on the five foundations.
