One step higher or lower
An exposed card is playable when it is one rank above or below the target, regardless of suit. Kings and aces connect in this version. Each played card becomes the new target. Covered cards become available only after their blockers are removed.
Connect the ends with a useful rank chain
The two-deck game leaves 23 stock cards after the starting target, with no redeal. Before drawing, look for a sequence that opens cards in another part of the dumbbell. A short chain that releases a new rank may offer more choices than a longer chain ending against a blocked section. An empty layout wins, even with unused stock.
