Bear River starts the ace of clubs on a foundation and deals the other 51 cards into eighteen visible piles. Every tableau pile holds at most three cards.
Only three empty piles can receive a card
Move an exposed card onto the next higher or lower rank of the same suit, provided the receiving pile has room. Only single cards move, with no king–ace wrap. The three special piles may receive any card when empty; an emptied ordinary pile cannot be refilled.
Use the small spaces to release low ranks
Build all four foundations from ace through king by suit. A special space can free a blocker, but its three-card capacity limits how much you can stack there. Check the next exit before placing a card in it. There is no stock or reshuffle to rearrange a trapped pile.
