Thirteen columns of four give Baker’s Dozen a fully visible opening. All 52 cards are on the board, and every rearrangement must use the space already available.
Suit matters on the foundations
Build columns down by rank, regardless of suit or color. Move one exposed card at a time. In this version, only a king can fill an empty column. Four foundations build upward by suit from ace through king; there is no stock or redeal.
A run needs several separate moves
Two descending cards cannot travel together. Before moving the top one, identify where the card below it can go next. Clearing a column is useful only if a reachable king can occupy it, so check the king’s blockers before spending moves to create that space.
